Stanley Museum Facts

Founded:
The Stanley Museum was established in 1981 to preserve the many diverse activities of the Stanley siblings.

Collections:
The Stanley museum houses several full early automobiles as well as engines that date to the same period. The story of the Stanley Dry Plate Company is presented in the museum as well, as are many of Chansonetta's photographs, about 20 in all. Many of these were colored after being taken. The personal writings of the family members and a collection of violins, which the twins and their nephew made, help fill the displays of the museum.

Facilities:
The Museum is located in the old Stanley School building, which was named after the Stanley family. The school dates back to 1903 and was the original occupant of the grand Georgian-style building that would later become a museum to the same family that was the school's namesake.
